My name is
Javier Fabregas. I am a visual artist currently working with animation,
independent publishing and video. My main interest is to produce incisive
comments about marginal cultures, millennial misery, ancient disruptions in our
globalized modern world, and the confluences between epic fantasies and suburbia
monotony. Materialized and put into circulation through both digital and printed
means. My work is influenced by a variety of streams including dark
science fiction, 80´s horror films, underground cinema, disjointed narratives,
black metal, and 60´s camp aesthetic. Shifting my art career with a commercial
work in advertising as a motion designer and VFX artist, I have been able to
learn and improve audiovisual techniques that have encouraged me to create personal
projects in new media. Regardless of the medium, a bizarre aesthetic is what
defines my work. A trademark born out of a tacit interest in exhuming and
dissecting underground oddities that have remained hidden or irrelevant to the
predominant cultures. To dig with the conviction to reuse, to reinterpret what
is found under another spectrum of light.
“The
primordial composition of visible matter in the universe is eternity itself.”
-Now, go tell this to your boss. You, little cockroach! Go tell this to your bank and your tax collector. You, parasite!
Remember that the sloth is the mother of all sins, isn’t it?
ISN'T it?
